Łukasz Jurkowski – taekwondo and MMA fighter and a prominent commentator. His adventure with martial arts began with taekwondo when he was 17 years old. After three months of hard training he took part in – and won – the Warsaw Teakwondo Championship. In 2000, he won the 2000 Viking Cup in Sweden. In 2003 he passed the 1st dan (black belt) exam in taekwondo and in the same year he also began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. 2004 was an important year in his career. He won the World Taekwondo Cup held in the United States. Thanks to these achievements has was called up to the national team. Unfortunately, his further career in taekwono was hindered by injury. In 2004 Juras signed a contract with KSW. He fought many fights in this organization. He became the tournament KSW champion and a finalist of the KSW II and KSW III tournaments. After many successful fights in 2011 he decided to end his competition career. However, he was too attached to MMA to completely leave its world. Juras became a notable sports commentator. Along with Andrzej Janisz he comments the KSW gala, and since 2010 also the UFC gala for Polsat Sport. He is a well-known sports blogger, writing for Sport dla Wszystkich (“Sport for All”). Juras is also the founder of the Krwawy Sport (“Bloody Sport”) Foundation.
